The Silver Phoenix Coin is inspired by the symbolism of the mythical bird – immortality and renewal, incarnated in pure investment silver. It is made of 31.1 g (1 oz) of 999 fine silver, with a diameter of 40.60 mm. This is the first coin Bulmint has ever manufactured under its own brand.

Proof-like quality is achieved through a similar method to the technology that goes into creating proof products – every piece with a proof-like finish is distinguished by a pronounced contrast between the matte and gloss elements that give each product stunning aesthetic characteristics.

The reverse, in bullion proof-like quality depicts the image of a phoenix surrounded by a fiery blaze. Its plumage is recreated in stunning detail via high relief. Hidden among the flames is a latent image as a built-in security feature – when observed from different angles, the stylised flame gives way to Bulmint’s logo. In a matt circle around the composition, the technical specifications of the coin are inscribed.

The obverse depicts a glossy image of King Charles III against a matt background, along with the face value – 2 New Zealand Dollars, and the year of mintage – 2023.
