London 2012 Paralympic Games £5 Brilliant Uncirculated Coin Pack

The London 2012 Paralympic Games £5 Brilliant Uncirculated Coin Pack offers collectors the opportunity to own the official Paralympic Coin of London 2012. This commemorative £5 coin perfectly captures the spirit and excitement of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Official Paralympic Design

Designed by Pippa Sanderson, this coin features a modern interpretation of key Paralympic skills. The thoughtful design is divided into four distinct sections:

  • Top left: An archery target representing accuracy, alongside the words ‘London 2012’
  • Top right: Spoked wheels symbolizing manoeuvrability
  • Bottom right: Big Ben representing the host city of London
  • Bottom left: A stopwatch illustrating speed, accompanied by the London 2012 Paralympic emblem

In the designer’s own words, she feels “honoured, proud and thrilled” that her design was chosen. “With the coin being circular, I played around with circles found in the Games, and decided on a spoked wheel for manoeuvrability, a target for accuracy and a stopwatch for speed. I split the design into these elements and added the face of Big Ben to represent London.”
