1. About us & how to contact us
This website, ukcoinhunt.com (“the site”, “we”, “us”, “our”), is operated by UK Coin Hunt. You can contact us at any time by email at [email protected] or by post at UKCoinHunt, PO BOX 617, Tunbridge Wells, TN2 9WS. If we need to contact you, we will do so using the email address or postal address you provided in your order.
2. Acceptance of these terms
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the site and any purchase of products from us. By placing an order or otherwise using the site, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use the site or place an order.
We may amend these Terms from time to time. Every time you wish to order products, please check these Terms to ensure you understand the version that applies at that time. The version in force at the time you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
Your statutory rights are not affected. Nothing in these Terms reduces or removes the rights you have as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
3. Eligibility & your account
- Age: You must be at least 18 years old to place an order with us. By ordering, you confirm that you are 18 or over.
- Account security: If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity on your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Accurate information: You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when ordering or registering, and to keep it up to date.
4. How an order is formed
Placing an order on the site is an offer to buy, not a binding contract. Our acknowledgement email confirming receipt of your order is not acceptance.
A binding contract between you and us is formed only when we dispatch the goods and send you a dispatch confirmation. If we are unable to accept your order — for example, because an item is out of stock, because of a pricing error, or because we have been unable to verify your payment — we will contact you and will not charge you for the item.
5. Products, descriptions & images
- Illustrative images: Coins are individually handled, photographed and graded where applicable. Product images are illustrative: minor variations in finish, toning, patina or grading between the image and the coin you receive are normal and do not constitute a fault. Where a listing is for a specific, individually photographed item, you will receive that item.
- Descriptions & grading: Any descriptions, weights, specifications or grades are provided in good faith and to the best of our knowledge at the time of listing. Grading of collectable coins is an opinion, not a warranty.
- Availability: All products are subject to availability. We reserve the right to withdraw or change any product at any time before your order is accepted.
6. Price, payment & pricing errors
- Prices: Prices shown on the site are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. The price you pay is the price displayed at the time you place your order, plus any delivery charge shown at checkout.
- Payment: Payment is taken at the time you place your order, via the payment methods available at checkout. We use third-party payment processors with industry-standard security; we do not store your full payment card details.
- Pricing errors: It is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some items may be incorrectly priced. Where the correct price is lower than the listed price, we will charge the lower amount. Where the correct price is higher than the listed price, we will contact you for instructions before accepting your order, or reject the order and issue a full refund.
- Fraud prevention: We may decline or cancel any order we reasonably suspect to be fraudulent, or where we cannot verify the billing or delivery details. In such cases we will refund any amount charged.
7. Delivery & risk
- Dispatch times: Orders are typically dispatched within 3 business days of being placed, subject to stock and payment clearance.
- Carrier: Unless otherwise stated, orders are shipped via Royal Mail using the service selected at checkout.
- Estimated delivery: Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Delays may occur due to factors outside our reasonable control (for example, postal disruption).
- Risk & ownership: Goods are at your risk from the time they are delivered to you or to a person nominated by you. Ownership passes to you on the later of delivery or receipt of full payment.
- International orders: If you order from outside the UK, you are the importer of record. You are responsible for complying with the laws of the destination country and for paying any customs duties, import taxes and handling fees. These are not included in the price you pay us.
- Missing parcels: If your parcel does not arrive within a reasonable time of dispatch (please allow up to 14 working days for UK post before we open an investigation), contact us and we will assist with tracking and, where appropriate, claims or replacements.
8. Your right to cancel (distance selling)
If you are a consumer in the UK, you have a statutory right to cancel most online orders under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- Cancellation window: You may cancel your order within 14 days starting the day after you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods.
- How to cancel: Tell us clearly in writing — by email to [email protected] with your order number — that you wish to cancel.
- Returning the goods: You must return the goods to us within 14 days of telling us you want to cancel, in their original, unopened condition and packaging, securely packaged. You are responsible for the cost of return postage where the cancellation is not due to a fault or error on our part.
- Refund: We will refund the price of the goods and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or proof of return). We may reduce the refund to reflect any diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
- Exceptions: The cancellation right does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, sealed goods that have been unsealed and which are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons, or where otherwise excluded by law.
9. Faulty or incorrect goods
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we must supply goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If what we deliver to you does not meet these standards:
- Short-term right to reject: Within 30 days of delivery you can reject faulty goods for a full refund.
- Repair or replacement: After 30 days, you may ask for a repair or replacement. If that is not possible or is unsuccessful, you may be entitled to a reduction in price or a refund.
- Return postage for faulty goods: Where goods are faulty, damaged on arrival or not as described, we will cover reasonable return postage costs. Please contact us before returning the item so we can arrange this.
10. How to return an item
Please contact [email protected] before returning anything, so we can log the return and confirm the process. Returns should be sent to:
UKCoinHunt
PO BOX 617
Tunbridge Wells
TN2 9WS
We strongly recommend using a tracked service and retaining proof of postage. We cannot be responsible for returns lost in transit where no proof of postage is available.
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you want a different item, please return the original and place a new order for the replacement.
11. UKCH Points loyalty programme
If you participate in the UKCH Points loyalty programme, additional terms apply as set out on our UKCH Points page. Points have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may be adjusted, deducted or cancelled where an order is refunded, where we detect abuse of the programme, or where an account is closed.
12. Acceptable use of the site
You agree not to use the site:
- In any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation;
- For any unlawful or fraudulent purpose, or to impersonate any person or entity;
- To transmit any data or material that contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
- To attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server on which it is stored, or any connected database or system;
- To interfere with, disrupt, or place unreasonable load on the site or its security features.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the site — and, where appropriate, to report activity to law enforcement — if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
13. Intellectual property
- Our content: All content on ukcoinhunt.com — including text, photographs, graphics, logos, layout and product descriptions — is owned by UK Coin Hunt or our licensors and is protected by copyright, database rights and other intellectual property laws. You may view, download and print content for personal, non-commercial use only. Any other use (including copying, reproduction, adaptation, distribution or commercial use) is prohibited without our prior written consent.
- Third-party marks: Trademarks, service marks and trade names appearing on the site are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only. No endorsement is implied.
14. Third-party links
The site may contain links to third-party websites. We have no control over the content of those sites and are not responsible for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them. The inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.
15. Our liability to you
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- Any matter for which it would be unlawful for us to limit or exclude liability, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to the above:
- We are liable for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is “foreseeable” where it is an obvious consequence of our breach, or where it was contemplated by you and us at the time the contract was formed.
- We do not accept liability for loss that is not foreseeable, for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
- Our total liability to you for any single order is limited to the price you paid for that order.
- We supply products for domestic and private use. If you use them for any commercial, business or resale purpose, we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
16. Events outside our control
We will not be in breach of these Terms, nor liable for delay or failure to perform, where such delay or failure arises from causes outside our reasonable control — including acts of God, flood, fire, industrial action, war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemic, failure of public or private telecommunications networks, or interruption to postal or courier services. If such an event occurs, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event.
17. Privacy & data protection
- Compliance: We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Personal data is processed lawfully, fairly and transparently, and collected only for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes.
- What we collect: Information you provide when you order or register (name, email, billing/delivery addresses, order history), and technical data such as IP address, browser type, and site usage.
- Why we collect it: To process and fulfil your orders, provide customer service, prevent fraud, comply with our legal obligations, and (with your consent) send you marketing communications.
- Storage & security: Personal data is stored in password-protected systems with appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
- Marketing: We will only send you marketing emails where you have opted in or where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us.
- Your rights: You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to the processing of, and port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
- Cookies: The site uses cookies to enable core functionality, analyse traffic and (with your consent) support marketing. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
18. Reviews & communications
- Review invitations: After your order ships, we may send you a follow-up email inviting you to leave a review of the items you bought. You can opt out of review requests at any time by contacting us.
- Transactional emails: We will always send you order confirmation, dispatch and other transactional emails related to orders you have placed with us. You cannot opt out of these while an order is in progress.
19. Complaints
If you have a complaint about a product or your experience with us, please contact us first at [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them as quickly as possible.
20. General
- Assignment: We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation; we will notify you if this happens. You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our written consent.
- Severability: If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in full force and effect.
- No waiver: A failure or delay by us in enforcing any right under these Terms does not waive that right.
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with any order confirmation and our privacy policy, form the entire agreement between you and us in relation to their subject matter.
- Third parties: No person who is not a party to these Terms has any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any of them.
21. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms, their subject matter and their formation are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a resident of Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
