Has been issued to celebrate one of Beatrix Potter’s most loved children’s tales. This is the first UK coin to feature The Tailor of Gloucester and is part of the third series of Beatrix Potter 50ps; the 2016 and 2017 series proved to be extremely popular with coin collectors. Designed by Emma Noble.

Obverse Design:

The obverse of the coin features the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was designed by Jody Clark and first used in 2015. The portrait shows the Queen in her crown and gown, facing right.

Metal Composition:

The coin is made of cupronickel, a durable alloy commonly used for circulating UK 50p coins. This material ensures that the coin holds up well in circulation while maintaining the detail of the design.
